PictoMento is an online gallery for photographers — designed to make sharing photos with clients simple, beautiful, and professional. Who is PictoMento for?
PictoMento is made for photographers who want to deliver their photos to clients in a modern and elegant way. It’s especially popular among wedding and portrait photographers but is suitable for any type of shoot.

Is PictoMento only for wedding photographers?
No, PictoMento is for all photographers — whether weddings, family portraits, business shoots, or events. You can present any kind of shoot individually. The benefits of PictoMento (such as personalized access links) are particularly valuable for events with multiple people and the gallery needs to be shared with different parties.

Why did you create PictoMento?
Our founder Robin wasn’t satisfied with the way he could share his wedding photos with guests while staying GDPR-compliant. He especially missed the option to send personalized links with individual privacy settings. So he built his own solution — and that was the birth of PictoMento.
How do you differ from other providers?
We combine flexible pricing with a simple and easy-to-use online gallery that includes all essential features. You get personalized access for each user and the option for clients to take over their gallery and pay for it.
Which languages are supported?
We currently support English, German, and Dutch at this moment in time.
How do you handle data protection?
Data protection is at the core of PictoMento. Your personal data is stored exclusively on secure European servers and the photos and videos are stored by a privacy friendly, secure and robust decentralized storage network.

Getting started & Account Setup

How can I test PictoMento for free?
After registration, you get 3 galleries for free for three months! No obligations and no payment details required. Simply register, create your first gallery, and explore all features at your own pace.
How long does setup take?
Setup only takes a few minutes. Register, upload your first photos, and share your gallery with clients.
Can I use my own branding?
Yes! You can add your logo, brand colors, and font so every gallery perfectly matches your brand. That way, your presentation stays professional and personal. Would you be interested in hosting the galleries from your own domain (galleries.mycompany.com)?

Is there a maximum upload size?
The maximum upload size for photos and GIFs is 100Mb and 50Gb for Videos, there is no time limit for videos. These limits are set very high, as we believe storage should never be the constraint for photographers.

However we recommend delivering your photos in a size around 10Mb, GIFs 1Mb or less, and videos less than 5Gb, such that your clients can handle downloading and storing the original files. We make sure that viewing on mobile devices is fast by generating smaller versions for online viewing.

We do not support storing RAW or Photoshop files at this time.

Features and Usage

How do I upload photos?
You can upload your photos directly via your browser — using drag & drop or file selection. You can also upload folders. If you select multiple folders, PictoMento automatically organizes them into chapters. PictoMento optimizes image display automatically to ensure sharp visuals and fast loading.
Can clients mark their favorite photos?
Yes! Clients can “like” photos.
Can clients download photos?
Yes! Clients can download individual photos or entire chapters. Clients and guests can download the web version (scrubbed of EXIF data) that is suitable for sharing on socials, as well as the original files of course.
Does PictoMento work on smartphones?
Absolutely! PictoMento is fully mobile-optimized for a seamless user experience across phone, tablet, and desktop.
How does client gallery transfer work?
This feature is currently under development. Clients will soon be able to take over a gallery for a small fee. You’ll hand off the gallery, we’ll handle the backup and support, and your client keeps their memories online. You’ll also receive a commission for each transfer.
How are photos sorted?
By default, photos are sorted by file name. You can also choose to sort them by camera timestamp, especially handy when using multiple cameras for your events!
Can I create chapters?
Yes! You can create unlimited chapters per gallery. You can upload photos within existing folders (which become chapters) or create chapters online and upload images directly into them. This keeps the cohesion of the gallery, while making it easy to browse through for your clients and guests.

How can I share galleries?
You can share galleries in different ways:

1. Public Access: Anyone with the link can view and download photos.
2. Personalized Access: Each guest receives an individual link.
How does personalized access work?
Using facial recognition, each person is identified. Your clients can then group couples or families together. A unique link is generated for each guest — optionally sent automatically via email. When a guest clicks their link, they see a personalized gallery showing photos they appear in first, followed by all shared chapters and images.
Which file formats are supported?
We support files with the following file extentions: jpg, jpeg, png, webp, gif, and mp4.
Is there an app?
Users can add PictoMento as a Progressive Web App to their home screen. Simply open the gallery → tap “Share” → “Add to Home Screen.” This allows clients to access their gallery anytime.
Can I personalize the gallery?
Yes, there are several options. You can change the background color (using predefined colors or a custom color code), choose from different layouts, adjust spacing, select fonts, and change the cover image.
In what quality are photos and videos stored?
We store photos and videos in their original quality. In parallel, we generate two additional optimized versions, with the exception of GIFs, these will always be the original. This ensures fast loading times, while providing the sublime quality your clients expect.
Can my clients mark photos as private?
Yes. Clients can click the “eye” icon to mark photos as private — they will then be hidden from others.
