A year ago, I walked down the aisle with my best friend, surrounded by friends and family—a day defined by connection, love and internationality! We prioritised presence over screens, hiring two exceptional photographers (@esmefilmandphotography) to capture the memories and asking all our guests to avoid their phones, so they could be there in the moment. The result, magical. Strangers bonded, laughter echoed, and everyone shared in our intimate day, one that we would treasure forever.
Esme Film and Photography delivered their work through a platform like pic-time, a convenient tool for galleries. Yet as I reviewed the process, a critical question emerged: How do we safely share these memories in 2025?
Quick Answer: truthfully, it’s difficult. A certain number of key questions just kept popping into my head (which I will deep dive in later blogs)….
- How can clients keep photographers photos safe?
- How would I, as a client, store these photos and videos for the long term?
- What about the guests? Can I share the photos safely with them?
- Why are guests important to your work as a photographer?
… and that’s when the cogs started turning and the idea of PictoMento was born.
PictoMento, a dream brought to reality.
Photographers are the hero. You capture life’s most timeless moments, turning them into art that your clients will cherish forever. Your mission is to deliver an amazing first impression, make it effortless for clients to share their joy, and provide a secure, long-term home for these precious memories.
But here’s the plot twist: once the photos are delivered, sharing them with everyone who was there can be a headache. You’ve captured not just your clients, but their entire circle of family and friends. Your clients are desperate to share, but they’re stuck wondering, “How do I even do this? And what about the guests’ privacy?”
What if you could know exactly which guest was in which photo? Imagine giving every single person their own personalised login, serving them a beautiful gallery of just the moments they starred in. It’s like giving them a director’s cut of their own experience!
But let’s talk about the modern world. With AI and deepfakes, sharing photos can have unintended consequences, especially for minors. Some people want their photos shared with the world, while others prefer to keep them private. Who’s right? Everyone! The hard part isn’t what they want, but how they can choose.
So, let them! Our platform empowers every guest to control their own digital footprint. They decide if their photos can be seen by others or shared publicly. You don’t have to be the privacy police—the guests tell you exactly what they want. The result? Over 60% of guests love being asked! They feel seen, respected, and understood. This builds incredible trust, and guess who that trust reflects back on? You. You’re front and center, the trusted hero who made it all happen.
We make the impossible, possible.
“Sounds impossible,” you say? “A beautiful dream, but a technical nightmare?” We love a good challenge! Fueled by countless coffees and sheer determination, we turned that dream into reality. We engineered PictoMento, our own revolutionary privacy platform to make it all work seamlessly.
This is more than just photo delivery platform; it’s about creating genuine connections with your clients and their guests. It’s about fostering the relationships that truly matter and building a business that’s not just profitable, but beloved.
I can’t wait for you, the hero, to be part of this exciting experience. Now for another coffee…
Robin
